Fashion News - New Bim Kenesis

Marching Orders, the Spring/Summer 08/09 collection from Bim Kenesis, takes inspiration from the exuberant energy of marching band music, uniforms and formations. This high-powered collection is unashamedly girly, yet balanced, with a tailored Ivy League look and a preppy aesthetic.

Marching Orders features a clean palette of black and white, Wedgwood blue, gold and a shock of coral.

Bree has continued to use exclusive, theme-inspired prints to complement the collection. This season’s signature design features a cute trumpet logo, hand-printed in Australia, on natural fabrics such as silks, jerseys, cottons and linen blends. The collection is fashioned from versatile pieces designed to be dressed up or down, with an emphasis on the shoulder and waist.

The Spring/ Summer 08/09 collection includes band uniform inspired details, such as precision pleats, reversible bows, braids, tassels and brass buttons. Shorts, playsuits and blazers include chevron pocket features with dresses and blouses utilizing clever, reversible cross-banding, reminiscent of drum supports. Tops and bodysuits include striking drape tie details inspired by marching band directions.

You can find Bim Kenesis in Sydney at Mish Mash (Bondi) and Roof on Fire (Paddington) and online at www.ytba.com.au.
