RAFW SS 09/10 - Ellery

Stylist/designer Kym Ellery produced an edgy but feminine rock n roll aesthetic with a subtle 80's undertone for her SS collection.
Models strutted out to the sound of live band Hot Little Hands.
Key features included lace up detailing on skirts and jackets, prom style dresses and sharp shoulder detailing.

The highlight of the range for me is the copper cigarette pants and the peachy blazer featured above.

RAFW SS 09/10 - Alpha60

The Falling's underlying theme is summed up by the below;
"Heard about the guy who fell off a skyscraper?

On his way down past each floor, he kept saying to reassure himself:
So far so good...so far so good...so far so good.
How you fall doesn't matter. It's how you land!"
-La Haine

The collection had an eerie vibe and the models looked vacant which complimented the garments well. Key features of the collection were floor length skirts and dresses that draped beautifully, some with cut outs in the back, there were also knitted and layered pieces which created interesting texture+some nice relaxed tailoring in the menswear. This was all presented in a muted colour palette with hints of subtle print. I loved the quirky touch of the dolls head accessories.

RAFW SS 09/10 - Antipodium

Antipodium offered a refreshing alternative flavour at RAFW yesterday, they even featured some real models. The collection itself had a raw, edgy London 'it girl' vibe with tough layering in soft sheer fabrics, knitted leather leg warmers, chambray shirting and chunky docs.

RAFW SS 09/10 - Dion Lee

Dion Lee would have to be my favourite collection at RAFW so far. The range features impeccable tailoring, clean lines and an abundance of quirks + edge. I'm also loving the muted colour palette with sharp injections of neon blue. Dion Lee is a true talent and definitely one to keep your eyes on. I want it all, especially the blazer below.

RAFW SS 09/10 - Arnsdorf

Jade Arnott, the creative force behind Melbourne based label Arnsdorf did not disappoint. The collection featured a gorgeous peach and teal colour palette mixed in with her signature black and nude tones. Influences that showed subtle hints throughout the range included ice skating, parachutes and tents.

d_luxe - Dream Weaver

New Zealand based designers Megan Oliver and Karie Higgins are the creative geniuses behind design firm d_luxe which in fact was an interior architect outfit to begin with but recently expanded into jewellery design. The Dream Weaver collection is truly unique with the kind of pieces that can be worn casually or as  a feature piece when dressing up.

Stockists include; Incu, Dobry Den, Moku and Capital L.

Friedrich Gray - SS 09/10

Last night Friedrich Gray's innovative creator, Ben Pollitt, sent a dark collaborative collection down the catwalk featuring Momo Design scooter helmets giving the range an out of this world feel. The range featured slim fit leather jackets, raw edged tanks and plenty of experimental cuts in a predominantly black on black palette but was offset by a subtle injection of pastels and kaleidoscopic prints.

Stolen Girlfriends Club designers, Marc Moore, Luke Harwood, Dan Gosling, and Zan Mirkin have brought together a brilliant concoction of inspiration from late 70’s punk, Marie Antoinette, Siouxsie & the Banshees plus The Human Heart, forming an edgy collection that borders on Punk Romanticism.
